Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 July 2026
1. The agreement
These terms are between you and Stretch Study Ltd (“STRETCH”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England & Wales under company number 17346479, whose registered office is at 2 Wolseley Gardens, London, W4 3LP. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorised to bind that school.
2. Who may use STRETCH
- You must be 18 or over to create an account.
- Children do not create accounts. A parent or a school creates an account for them and is responsible for it.
- Home-schooling families must use a Family account, not a School account. School accounts are reserved for registered schools and require an official school email address for verification. Using a School account without being a registered school may result in the account being converted or suspended.
- If you are a parent, you confirm you have parental responsibility for each child you add.
- If you are a school, you confirm you have a lawful basis to enter each pupil’s details and, where required, have informed parents.
3. Free trials, pilots and beta access
- Families: a 10-day free trial per child, per subject. The trial starts only when you press the button to start it. Adding a child starts nothing.
- Schools: a 30-day pilot, started when you activate a class, a year group, or a pupil. Nothing is billed during setup.
- Beta access: where we have given you a beta code, access is free, provided as-is, and may change or end at any time. Beta users are helping us build the product and we are grateful — but we make no promises about uptime or the preservation of data during beta. Please keep your own backup of your child’s progress. The trainer has a Download Backup button for exactly this.
4. Payment
Prices. Current prices are shown on the pricing page. Stretch Study Ltd is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. Should we become registered, we will tell you before any price changes as a result.
Families. You choose monthly or quarterly billing, per child, per subject. Where two or more children are active on the same account at the same time, the price per child falls automatically. If the number of active children falls back to one — because a child is paused, cancelled or deleted — the single-child price applies again from the next billing date. You do not need to tell us; it happens by itself.
When you are charged. Nothing is charged during the free trial. Your card is held when you activate a subject and is first charged when the trial ends. Subscriptions then renew automatically, monthly or quarterly, until you cancel.
Refunds
Families. If you cancel, pause or delete a child within 14 days of activating that subject, we will refund that child's first payment in full. Access to the refunded subject ends when the refund is issued.
- The 14 days run from activation — the day you start the subject and the free trial begins — not from the day you are charged.
- It applies to the first payment only. After 14 days, and on every renewal afterwards, payments are non-refundable.
- To ask for a refund, email hello@stretch.study from the address on the account.
- This does not affect any legal right to cancel that you may have as a consumer.
Schools. School and trust subscriptions are annual, invoiced in advance, and non-refundable once the invoice is paid. The 30-day pilot is free and carries no obligation — you decide at the end of it whether to proceed.
Cancelling
You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Outside the 14-day refund window you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not charged again.
Price changes. We may change prices, giving 30 days' notice. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.
5. What we ask of you
Do not: share an adult account login; attempt to access another family’s or school’s data; copy, scrape or republish our word bank, questions or passages; use the service to harm a child; or attempt to break the service.
Schools and tutors must not use a child’s progress data for any purpose other than supporting that child’s learning.
6. Our content is ours
The word bank, the definitions, the inference passages, the questions, the ranks, the artwork and the software are owned by LEGAL ENTITY NAME and protected by copyright. You may use them to teach the children on your account. You may not copy, resell, republish or use them to build a competing product, or to train a machine learning model.
7. Your child’s progress belongs to your child
We claim no ownership of a child’s learning record. You can export it at any time.
8. What we do not promise
STRETCH does not guarantee any examination result. It is a vocabulary trainer. It does not guarantee a place at any school, a pass mark in any 11+ examination, or any particular improvement. Any figures we publish about typical progress are descriptive, not a promise.
We aim to keep the service available but we do not guarantee it is uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of anticipated examination results.
This clause protects you and needs a solicitor’s eye. It is the clause most likely to be tested.
10. Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why. If we close a school’s account, the school may export its pupils’ data first.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
